Why I Chose Them

What Peaked My Interest...

It was my senior year in high school and I was placed in

honors level english. My Professors name was Mr. Muma. In his

class he would teach us about all of these different authors and do

group projects. During the course I analyzed the grim brothers

fairy tales, I touched on Henrik Ibsen, he taught about feminism,

and also taught about Franz Kafka. What I learnt in his class were

the basics of each of these authors and we would never get too in

depth on them.  In his class was the first time I had read the

Metamorphosis and ever heard of Franz Kafka. Ever since

then I became fascinated with this author and his works.

Doing this blog on him was a great opportunity to learn more

about Kafka and share it with my class and the world.

Connection I feel with them

I choose these two authors because of the connection's I saw

between them. Ibsen and Kafka where both born into the family as

the eldest child. I can connect to them because I am the oldest

out of my siblings. Both of these writers wrote about real life

issues and put them in their own different creative ways. I feel I

can relate to them because I find ways to express myself through

my creative out look of painting, and art, while they used words.

Both of these writers had some type of struggle in their life for

Ibsen it was that his father put his family into poverty. While for

Kafka his father was unaccepting and abusive towards him. It is

clear to see that both of these authors had father issues within

there life. For me my struggle was the constant moves I had to

make with my family because we never owned a home but just

rented.  However, the connection  I noticed in their works is that

they wrote about issues that happens in real homes and in the

career world. I found that the topics these authors write about is

what interest me the most. If I learned anything from these

authors it would be to look at the world and my time periods issues

in the home and government and say something about it.
